    54th Custodian of House of Mewar, born on Jyesth Shukla Tritiya Vikram Samvat 1597, Maharana Pratap's (r. 1572 - 1597 CE) personality emerges as that of a unique warrior and a great freedom fighter; he was the symbol of struggle, renunciation, sacrifice, generosity and perseverance for independence. Following the path of resistance against the Mughal rule, he decided to protect the pride and self-esteem of Mewar. Maharana Pratap introduced proficient administration and leadership abilities, which are mentioned in the historical literature.
