Maharana Kumbha Jayanti

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation celebrates the birth anniversary of 47th Custodian of the House of Mewar Maharana Kumbha (r. 1433-1468 CE). According to the folklore, Maharana Kumbha (Kumbhakarn) was born on Makkar Sakranti Vikram Samvat 1474, at a village called Maliyawas  near Deogarh - Madaria, District Rajsamand.

 Maharana Kumbha was an able ruler, erudite scholar, a spiritual person and a great warrior, besides an architecture expert and musician. Compositions composed by Maharana Kumbha are Sangeetraj, Sood Prabandha, Sangeet Ratnakar, Rasik Priya (commentary of Geet Govind in dialect of Mewar, originally written in Sanskrit), Vadhya Prabandhak which shows his extraordinary knowledge of music.
