Fellowship Programme at SRAL, Netherlands

As a part of the Indian Conservation Fellowship Programme 2022-23, Ms. Anuja Mukherjee, Art Conservator represented Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), The City Palace Museum, Udaipur at one of the most eminent cultural restoration institutions, Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL), The Netherlands and visited many other famous Museums and Cultural institutions in Europe. This fellowship programme is supported by The Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, US. Under the supervision of Ms. Kate Seymour, Head of Education and training, Senior Paintings Conservator and ICOM- Chair, she completed advanced conservation training from October 2022 to January 2023. During the fellowship period, she learnt the conservation methodologies adapted by institutes in Europe as well as familiarized herself with the conservation materials and scientific equipments used for conservation of artworks. After coming back, she wishes to utilize her new learning and skills at the Museum and share her experience with fellow colleagues. Along with the inhouse conservation team, she will be planning conservation based workshops and seminars for disseminating the knowledge she gained during her fellowship.

Visit of Students from ITHAAS

On the 07th February 2023 ITHAAS in collaboration with Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation organised the Children visit at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. The group of 105 students and 14 faculty members visited The City Palace. Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Chief Administrative Officer provided geographical information of Mewar. Mr. Giriraj Singh, Manager, Maharana Mewar Historical Publications Trust, informed the children about the Bahids written during the time of the Maharanas in Mewar. The children showed keen interest in seeing the books of Hakikat Bahida published by the Foundation. Students also visited Haldighati, Kumbhalgarh, Molela and Chittorgarh. MMCF also organised workshop on various traditional handicrafts of Mewar for the children, in which information was given on Patal-Dona from Dhaka leaves, manufacture of weapons by Sikligar artisan, manufacture and painting of copper-brass utensils by Thathera.
