Fri, 7 April Visit of Professor Kurtz, Senior Research Fellow, Oxford University e-Research Centre Professor Donna Kurtz, Senior Research Fellow, Oxford University e-Research Centre visited the City Palace Museum, Udaipur where she reviewed the details of her last visit in the month April 2016 when a two day international workshop on Digital Cultural Heritage was organised by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF), Udaipur. The workshop was intended to provide an opportunity to hear presentations on work being done by experts from the Oxford University e-research centre on Linked data and Data Mapping. Along with the experts from Oxford University, London; Mr. Jay Hoffman, CEO, Gallery Systems, USA gave a presentation on TMS (The Museum System), the collection management software that has been implemented by The City Palace Museum to handle every facet of the museum's collection. The review discussion on Mapping Memory Manager (3M) and CIDOC CRM was attended by Dr. Neeraja Poddar, Dr. Mayank Gupta, Mr. Talib Ahmad and Dr. Hansmukh Seth.
Tue, 18 April Guide Orientation Programme
As per every year MMCF is organising a series of Guide Orientation Programme between April and May 2017 at the MMCF Conference Hall, COMPO, The City Palace, Udaipur. This year guide orientation programme took off on the occasion of World Heritage Day. |
The guide orientation programme is a step towards fulfilling the MMCF's objective to create awareness and educate the guides at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, about the history of Mewar and other topics relating to environment conservation etc. The first lecture in the series was given by- Mr. Abhinav Pandya, (Policy Analyst) on 18th April where he briefed on topic- Soft Power - (Covering culture, spirituality and tourism, India's history and future of India in World Economy and Politics). 27 guides attended the lecture. The second lecture on 28th April, 2017, in the series was given by Dr. Bashobi Bhatnagar on topic- Enhancing visitor's experience through Understanding them. 27 guides attended the lecture. |
