Supporting Saksham Project of Yuva Pahal, Pali

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, The City Palace, Udaipur is supporting the Saksham Project of Yuva Pahal, Pali to organize skill training project for the girls of Government Senior Secondary School based at Rohat, Pali, Rajasthan.

This is 3 years project and the first Phase of the project Saksham is being started for younger girls students of std. 11th and 12th of a Government Senior Secondary School, Rohat in Pali District of Rajasthan State. This project is commencing from 1st of May 2017 and the primary purpose of the project is to enable the girls to focus on a particular set of working skills which should lead to a vocation or employment in order to support their family in form of income generation in the field of Dress Designing and Computer.

The project of Skill Training for the 72 girls will be in two batches. The duration of the training will be of one year and would be conducted in three stages as follows: (75% practical and 25% theory components)

Stage 1: Basics of sewing, simple dress for ladies and children (3 Months)

Stage 2: Advanced sewing as per design (9 Months)

Stage 3: Computer fundamental and operating MS Office, search about latest fashion designs on internet, taking a printout etc (6 months along with stage 2)

Yuva Pahal is an emerging NGO of Rajasthan engaged in the social development and women empowerment through integrated family welfare and livelihood projects. It is a registered society in 2005, engaged in the development landscape through a team of professionals to address specifically women and youth empowerment to create income generation activity along with several activities. Since its inception from year 2005, Yuva Pahal has trained 5900 youth and women from rural and urban area through its various skill training programs in various districts across Rajasthan.

Yuva Pahal believes that Building livelihoods through microenterprises for Girls and Women is one of the remarkable steps for developing sustainability, improving household income and creating jobs where these are actually required. The objective is to empower every Girl and woman through skill and education so that she can support her family. Empowering means make them capable in every aspect hence we call it - Being Saksham. Project Saksham targets to the girls and women of age from 15 to 40 years old who are interested to take up any wage or self-employment in the fields like General Stitching, Fashion Designing, Production of consumer goods like making of papar, pickles, soap, surf and Agarbatti etc., Beauty and Wellness, Banking, Back Office Executive and IT assistants. Also this project supports those girls who are interested for higher education in any specific field which can support her in her career.

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded to students at every level of education, from primary school to post graduate research scholars. In many cases, had it not been for the intervention of the trust, the individual students' academic career would have come to a halt. Both men and women applicants are treated fairly and without bias. The numbers can range from a single scholarship granted to one student to cover their entire course of graduate studies or, to a number of students to help subsidies school / college fees. The trust has also sponsored and subsidized the presentation of research papers at symposia both in India, and across the globe.
