On 14th February 2016, Shriji along with Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar attended the festival. The chief guest for the occasion was Smt. Vasundhara Raje, Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Performers for the day included Hassan Tabar and Ershad Taherani - Santoor recital from Iran; Bhuvanesh Komkali - Morning Raags in Hindustani Classical Style, India; Dominique Vellard and Aruna Sairam,Omnem Terram - Gregorian Chants and Carnatic Songs, France and India.

The event also established Udaipur as a major destination for world music. The events were organised around Udaipur including Fateh Sagar and Railway Training School.

World Music Festival will be held every year around the same time. This year the artists included Fado singers from Portugal, Carminho, French composer Mathias Duplessy, Rajasthani vocalist Mukhtiyar Ali from the semi-nomadic community called Mirasi from the Thar Desert, Instrumental Spanish Flamenco guitar and dance performance and the unique African beat music by Dobet Gnahore, a Grammy award winner from the Ivory Coast.
