Book Exhibition and Sale on 'World Book Day'

Maharana Mewar Historical Publications Trust, Udaipur organised its 8th Book Exhibition and Sale on 'World Book Day-2014' at Sabha Shiromani Ka Darikhana, Mardana Mahal, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur from 23rd April to 26th April 2014.

Interactive Workshop on Lime

As a part of the awareness program an interactive workshop was organised under the aegis of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation on the use of Lime at the City Palace Museum, Udaipur. A special focus was made on the field training program on lime and its significance in conservation. The workshop was attended by the architectural students from Buddha Institute, Udaipur.

The workshop included an on-field session that explained mixing of lime and its applications in restoration and conservation where students could get hands-on experience with local artisans. Students were briefed with various conservation work carried by the MMCF projects Department of the City Palace Museum, explaining its condition before and after restoration and concluded by a visit to various sites of restoration within the Palace. The workshop was thus a focused field training program on lime and largely extended into learning about various techniques involved in the process of restoration of historical buildings. Col. D. B. Mr. Utesh Dungerwal, Assistant Manager MMCF – Development attended the Taj Mahotsav fair held at Shilpgram near the Eastern Gate of 'Taj Mahal', Agra from 18 – 27 February 2014 to have an exposure of the crafts and artists to develop a database and an understanding for Maharana Mewar Foundation Annual Awards research cell.
This 10 days long carnival, organized by Uttar Pradesh Tourism, is a truly vibrant platform that gives information of India where one can find India's rich arts, crafts, cultures, cuisine, dance and music. Started in 1992, Taj Mahotsav aims to encourage the artisans who enthusiastically participate in big numbers. 400 legendary artisans from different parts of the country took part in the festival, this year.
