Ahar River Project Committee Meeting
The Ahar River Project Committee Meeting was held at the technology centre of Udaipur Chamber of Commerce & Industry, MIA, Udaipur. The meeting, attended by various stakeholders and members of the industry, concluded with the decision that the members will meet The District Administration to appraise them about their views and suggestions towards the proposed DPR of Ahar River of Udaipur.
Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation is supporting the project of Ecological Restoration of Ahar River and Ecological Improvement of Udai Sagar Lake through Bio Techniques with an aim to create a pollution free environment and habitat and to rejuvenate the Ahar River and Udai Sagar Lake with echo-technology and ecological engineering. Dr. Mayank Gupta, Deputy Secretary MMCF - Development, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation represented MMCF at the Meeting.
World Living Heritage Festival - 2014, Udaipur
13 – 16 March 2014, Organised by MMCF, Udaipur in association with UNESCO New Delhi
In an ongoing quest to preserve the living heritage of Mewar in Rajasthan, India, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur in association with UNESCO New Delhi celebrated four event-filled days – from 13th to 16th March, 2014. The World Living Heritage Festival is a unique opportunity to discover its living heritage – in its arts, dance and music, food and festivities.
Day 1 – 13th March 2014
Rang: Digital dimension to living heritage
MMCF initiated Rang – an Art and Craft association inspired by the colourful hues of Mewar and Holi in the year 2007. A celebration of traditional, rediscovered and adapted art & craft forms of Mewar. Rang workshop is a way to trace craftspeople practicing traditional art and craft forms and we inspire them to combine their craft with modern and contemporary style, creating new interpretations of ancient art and craft forms as practiced in Mewar.

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation is continuing its legacy of preserving and promoting living heritage through a 3 day interactive workshop ‘RANG’ in association with Lokalart.com. It is an attempt to nurture talent and reinforce the importance of historic forms of art and craft and the possibilities of new developments in the field. The workshop promotes patronage through thoughtful interpretation, a salient objective of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable foundation (MMCF) as a part of heritage preservation.
On 13th March His Excellency Mr. François Richier, Ambassador of France to India, Embassy of France in India in the presence of Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, inaugurated RANG at Sabha Shiromani Ka Darikhana, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur with truly gifted artists and their creations.
Participant artists included Miniature painting by Mr. Deepak Soni, Work in Terracotta by Mr. Ganga Ram Sahay, Wooded Carving by Mr. Vishnu Sikligar, Thikri (Glass Mosaic) by Mr. Krishna Kant Sharma, Marble Sculpting by Mr. Ambalal Bhat, Kavad by Mr. Mangilal Mistry and Nail art by Mr. Prakash.
The Workshop concluded with much appreciation on 15th March 2014.
