Brochure on Fateh Prakash Palace Convention Centre A brochure on Fateh Prakash Palace Convention Centre has been designed setting out details of Fateh Prakash Palace's 100 year old history to the present day. The brochure covers the dramatic change over this period, starting with the visit of Lord Minto when he laid the foundation stone of The Durbar Hall on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola in 1909 and the Independence of India at the time of the visionary Maharana Bhupal Singh ji. It includes the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh; Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy; Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran and the visit of the Queen of Bhutan in 1960. There are details of the centenary celebrations that took place at The Durbar Hall and the role of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, the 76th custodian of the House of Mewar. In 2011 a transformation took place when the Fateh Prakash Palace Convention Centre opened. The Durbar Hall was renamed The Sabhagaar Conference Hall and a new Satkar Banquet Hall with five “break away” rooms, bars and lounges for small conferences, meetings and discussions were inaugurated. The Satkar Banquet Hall also serves as an art gallery with works of the renowned artist S. G Thakar Singh who completed nearly 200 paintings commissioned by the Late Maharana Fateh Singh ji. Details of the conservation work undertaken by the House of Mewar are featured in the brochure.
