The Elephant: Power of Art - Celebrating Wildlife, Creativity, and Udaipur's Natural Beauty

The Elephant: Power of Art celebrates the intersection of wildlife conservation and artistic creativity. In association with the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, the exhibition was held on 12 April 2026 at Sabha Shiromani ka Darikhana, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. The event showcased vibrant artworks created by over 150 participants from across India, offering visitors a compelling display of artistic expression inspired by nature and wildlife. A major highlight was the remarkable contribution from distinguished guest artists: Mr. Bijay Biswaal, Ms. Uttama Dixit, Mr. Sikander Singh, Mr. Laxman Kumar, Mr. Pawan Kumar Kumawat, Ms. Rashbehari Saha, Mr. Anurag Mehta, Mr. K. Krishna Kundara, Mr. Shashank Shukla, Dr. Mahesh Kumawat, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Mr. Kulwinder Singh, Mr. Sant Kumar, and Mr. Durgesh Atal. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Bijay Biswaal. The accompanying workshop centred on the theme "Wildlife and Nature of the City of Lakes: Udaipur,"encouraging artists to interpret the region's natural beauty and ecological richness through their creative lens.

Through the Voices of Udaipur

On 1st April 2026, a video titled 'Jal Sanjhi: A Living Water Craft Tradition of Udaipur' was shared on the social media platforms of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. Practised for over 500 years in the old city of Udaipur, this rare and intricate art form continues to be preserved through generations of dedicated practitioners and remains an important part of the region's living cultural and devotional traditions. The video features Shri Rajesh Vaishnav, an 18th-generation practitioner associated with the Goverdhan Nath Temple, Udaipur, who continues to carry this legacy forward through his skill, knowledge, and commitment to the craft. In recognition of his contribution towards preserving this unique tradition, he was also honoured with the Maharana Mewar Award 2026 by Shriji Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar. Through sustained practice and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, Jal Sanjhi continues to remain an integral part of Udaipur's cultural life today.

National Conference- Military Traditions and History of Rajasthan

A two-day national conference on "Military Traditions and History of Rajasthan" was organized by the Department of History, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, in collaboration with the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation on 10-11 April 2026. Dr. Hansmukh Seth presented on "Evolution of Weapons in Mewar - Through the Ages" representing MMCF.
