Nav Chowki Mahal

It was built by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559, as the first phase of construction of the Rajmahal, now called The City Palace. It houses the fire-pit of Goswami Prem Giriji Maharaj. He was the sage who had a small hut on top of the hill, Rana Magri.

 
 
Art Adventure: May 2023


The City Palace Museum in Udaipur organized a series of activities in May 2023 to celebrate International Museum Day and Museum Week. The activities were designed to promote sustainability, well-being, and mental health.
 
International Museum Expo 2023

The City Palace Museum, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur participated in the three-day International Museum Expo held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 18 to 20 May 2023. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture to commemorate and celebrate International Museum Day.

 
 
Exhibition: Fragrance of Mewar

An 8-day art exhibition based on the struggle of Maharana Pratap for patriotism, freedom, and self-respect was organized at the City Palace in Udaipur. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee of the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation.

 
A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur

The Cleveland Museum of Art is currently hosting the exhibition A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur, which features nearly 50 paintings on paper and cloth that were commissioned by the kings of Mewar, the royal dynasty that once ruled from Udaipur.
