Sheetala Ashtami Procession at The City Palace, Udaipur

A lively procession laden with ornamented horses, musical band and security guards from the City Palace was carried out on the occasion of Sheetala Ashtami. The procession started from City Palace's Tripoliya and concluded at Sheetala Mata Temple. Devotees, both men and women participated in the procession and observed Pooja-Archana of the Goddess.Sheetala Ashtami is celebrated after 8 days of the Holi festival when many Hindu families do not light a fire for cooking and eat only pre-cooked food.

Chaitra Navratra celebration at The City Palace, Udaipur

Chaitra Navratri was celebrated at the City Palace, Udaipur from 8th to 14th April. Chaitra Navratri, also known as Chait Navratras, and as the name indicates it is observed during the Chaitra month (March – April) in the traditional Hindu calendar used in North India. The festival is dedicated to the Goddess Shakti. It begins on the first day of the Chaitra month with sthapana and ends with asthami hawan and mataji prasthan on Ram Navami. Smt. Vijayraj Kumari Mewar performed rituals on the final day of the Navratra.
