“Goût de France / Good France” at The Manek Chowk, The City Palace, Udaipur
“Goût de France / Good France”, a worldwide festival celebrating the excellence and creativity of French gastronomy was organised by the Embassy of France in India in association with HRH Group of Hotels at the historic Manek Chowk of The City Palace, Udaipur.
This remarkable dinner was prepared by young Michelin-star French chef Sébastian Sanjou, who works in the gourmet, fine-dining restaurant, “le Relais des Moines”, in Arcs-sur-Argens, southern France.
Mr. Sanjou unveiled a vegetarian menu, specially conceived for the evening for Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, His Excellency The Ambassador of France to India Mr. Francois Richier and guests.
This initiative – launched by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development under the aegis of celebrated three-star chef Alain Ducasse – aims, over the space of a one-of-a-kind dinner, to salute the excellence of French cuisine, its openness to influences from all over the world (participating chefs are encouraged to blend their own culinary culture with that of France), and the values that it conveys: bringing people together over a shared meal, the pleasure of taste, and the balance between human beings and the products of nature.
