Visit of delegates from Getty Trust

Mr. Jim Cuno, President and CEO, The J. Paul Getty Trust, USA; his daughter Ms. Kate Cuno; Mr. Thomas Gaehtgens, Director, The Getty Research Institute; Mr. Tim Whalen, Director, The Getty Conservation Institute visited The City Palace Museum , Udaipur. The team was greeted by Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Administrator in Chief, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation along with Dr. Shikha Jain, Principal Coordinator; Mr. S. Giri Kumar, Consultant-Art Conservation, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur; Ms. Vrinda Raje Singh, CEO, Joint Custodianship Initiative Program, Eternal Mewar, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation.

The team held a meeting with the staff members of the trust where they were briefed the details of the projects and developments. The team then took off for a round around the museum to Amar Mahal Gallery: Splendour of Silver - Reflecting the finest of Silver smithy Saraswati Vilas Gallery: Symphony of Mewar - A Royal Collection of Musical Instruments Bhagwat Prakash Gallery: Photography Exhibition titled - Long Exposure : The Camera at Udaipur, 1857 - 1957, Fateh Niwas Gallery: Mewar Miniature Painting Exhibition, Jas Prakash Gallery: Architecture and Conservation Exhibition, Som Niwas Gallery: Divine Gesture - The magnificence of Mewar spirituality, Gokul Niwas Gallery: The Curtain Raiser - The Mewar Regalia Textiles and Costumes Exhibition and Salehkhana Gallery: Arms and Armoury Exhibition.

Visit of H.E. Mr. F.K. Morule

H.E. Mr. F.K. Morule, High Commissioner of South Africa to India visited The City Palace Museum, Udaipur where he was greeted by Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Administrator in Chief, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. H.E. was made aware of the history of Mewar and the details of the palace.

The feedback left in the visitors' book read “A true lesson on preserving historic monuments for future generations, to keep the memory of the past so that present and future generations maintain pride in themselves and their human dignity so as to appreciate unity in diversity”.
