A student delegation from UK @ The City Palace, Udaipur

A delegation of 60 students from the leading Universities of UK, sponsored by British Council, visited The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. The students are in India for the 'Make in India Programme' initiated by the Government of India. The visit was organsied by Ms. Sathya Saran, Executive Director, Encyclomedia, Mumbai and the group was coordinated by Ms. Meetu Soni, COO and Co-Founder, IndoGenius, New Delhi.

Draft Presentation on Universal Access Design of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur

Draft Presentation on Universal Access Design of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur was given by Prof. Rachna Khare and Team from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal at MMCF Conference Hall, Moti Chowk, The City Palace, Udaipur. The presentation was attended by MMCF Consultants and Officials.

MMCF in association with SPA is developing a Universal Access Design and Interpretation Centre at The City Palace Museum, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation,Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. This will be planned on the basis of thorough research, field investigations, access audit and user surveys on site. MMCF aims to contribute to a large-scale systematic change with a focus on establishing a centre of excellence at Udaipur.

 

This institutional affiliation with SPA proposes to utilise the City Palace Museum of Udaipur as an educational resource for designing and implementing Universal Access for this site. It will be intended as a model with possible replications and adaptations for other heritage sites.

Internship for students from MA Museum and Gallery Practice Course, Hamad bin Khalifa University, Doha, Qatar at The City Palace, Udaipur


MMCF in association with UCL Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa University, Doha, Qatar had organised a visit of 3 Interns from MA Museum and Gallery Practice Course from the University for Cataloguing and Documentation of Walking Sticks, Umbrellas and Carpets. These are accessories of Gokul Niwas Gallery: The Curtain Raiser - The Mewar Regalia, Textiles and Costumes Exhibition.


Mr. Mikel Herrán Subiñas
at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur

Mr. Mikel Herrán Subiñas, MA Student in UCL Qatar in Archaeology of the Arab and Islamic World course had worked on Walking Sticks from 15 June to 18 July 2015. Others interns Ms. Sivri Georgia, MA student in UCL-Qatar at the Museum and Gallery Practice course and Mr. Theofanis Karafotias, MA student in UCL-Qatar at the Museum and Gallery Practice course joined him in July 2015 and will work on these accessories till August 2015.
