Seminar on Laser Scanner Surveys and Diagnostic Analysis for Restoration, Enhancement and Interpretation of Architectural Cultural Heritage

Ms. Vrinda Raje Singh, CEO - JCI, MMCF attended a half day interactive seminar on “Laser Scanner Surveys and Diagnostic Analysis for Restoration, Enhancement and Interpretation of Architectural Cultural Heritage” at Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur and at Fort Nagaur, Nagaur – Rajasthan.

The seminar was organised by the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, Jodhpur in partnership with Consorzio Ferrara Ricerche and the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara, Italy. The seminar was aimed at introducing the technique of 3D laser scanner and all its applications for architectural survey and restoration. The Department of Architecture, University of Ferrara, Italy conducted sessions on laser scanner technology to document the structural building architecture based on point cloud methods and a session on 3D photography, texturing and Diagnostic Analysis using Ultra sound and sonic survey technology. Members from Italy included Mr. Marcello Balzani, Mr. Luca Rossato, Ms. Alessandra Tursi, Mr. Giuseppe Boselli, Mr. Roberto Cielo, Mr. Leonardo Chiechi, Mr. Giancarlo Maselli and Mr. Emanuele Vigna.

Professional photography of Music Gallery, Sculpture Gallery and Silver Gallery for documentation

Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation commissioned Mr. Mustafa Quraishi and Ms. Mansi Midha, Q&M Visuals, New Delhi for the professional photographic documentation of silver artifacts, sculptures and musical instruments of The City Palace Museum, Udaipur.

 

The photography will take place in two phases where in Phase 1 – Musical instruments and Sculptures were photographed from 16th December to 20th December 2014. In phase 2 – Silver artifacts will be photographed from 2nd January to 8th January 2015.

Visit of NCC cadets at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur

600 NCC cadets attending the All India National Integration Camp organised by NCC Group Udaipur visited The City Palace Museum while in Udaipur. The cadets were given free passes by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. The cadets were briefed on the rich culture and heritage of Mewar that makes us proud. The cadets carried back fond memories of the Mewar's hospitality with them.
