Carrying on the famous Christmas Pudding tradition

Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar was present when the confectionary chefs started to prepare the Traditional Christmas Pudding at Bakery, Shiv Niwas Palace, Udaipur. The Chef's recipe is a closely guarded secret but those staying at HRH Group of Hotels, Udaipur at Christmas will have had the pleasure of tasting this sumptuous pudding.

Christmas, or plum pudding is still the traditional finale to the British Christmas dinner. It is believed to have originated as early as the 14th century as a 'frumenty' made of beef and mutton with raisins, currants, prunes, wine and spices. It had a soup like consistency and was eaten in preparation for the Christmas festivities. It wasn't until the reign of Queen Victoria that the pudding changed into something similar to the one that is eaten today.
