Exhibition - Lakdi ki Kathi at The Manek Chowk

On the 6th November Dharohar, a NGO headed by Ms. Nandita Singhal, organized an exhibition – LAKDI KI KATHI – at The Manek Chowk, The City Palace Complex, Udaipur. Many believe the symbol of childhood, a wooden horse, is losing its significance in these times of television and computer games. The event was organized to give children a flavour of the past and an idea of what their parents played with when they were young.

A display of 501 horses, 500 wooden and 1 iron one horse manufactured by artisans in Udaipur and painted by school children were placed at The Manek Chowk. The Dharohar team will take these horses to different locations so that children can paint and enjoy playing with them.

The event was conceptualized and directed by Mr. Sahid Parvez and supported by the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur.
