In the afternoon a technical session on World Sight Day 2011 was conducted under the banner 'Vision 2020 – The Right to Sight India' at The Sabhagaar Conference Hall, Fateh Prakash Palace Convention Centre, Udaipur. The event was supported by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur.

Friday 14th October,
1. Accepting an invitation from Ms. Anna Haber, Director – Global Marketing, GEMFIELDS PLC. Shriji attended the Emeralds for Elephants exhibition/auction at The Taj Mahal Palace, Apollo Bunder, Mumbai.

'Emeralds for Elephants' is a project designed to create awareness and raise funds for the protection of the critically endangered Asian elephant. Ethical mining company Gemfields, The World Land Trust and Wildlife Trust of India have collaborated with 10 world class Indian Jewellers to create a bespoke Zambian Emerald Jewellery Collection. The aim of the initiative is to create awareness for the protection of the “Indian Elephant Corridor”. Bollywood superstar Ms. Madhuri Dixit attended the evening as ambassador of the event. English cricket legend and World Land Trust patron, Other eminent guests included Sir David Attenborough, Princess Diya Kumari, Ms. Shobha De and other VIPs and celebrities from across India. Mr. David Gower was also present.
