VIP Visit

Visit of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, The King of Bhutan and Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck
On the 30th October His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, The King of Bhutan and his bride, Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck visited The City Palace Museum at The City Palace Complex where they were greeted by Mr. Bhupendra Singh Auwa, Deputy Secretary MMCF, Administration, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. They expressed special delight at the restoration work recently carried out at The Mor Chowk and the Osler collection in the Crystal Gallery. The couple were greeted by Smt. Vijayaraj Kumari Mewar of Udaipur and Mr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur at Shambhu Niwas Palace, Udaipur who accompanied them on a tour of The Durbar Hall Sabhagaar and Crystal Gallery at Fateh Prakash Palace, Udaipur. They also visited Jagmandir Island Palace, Udaipur.

The couple, who were on a five-day honeymoon trip to Rajasthan, and their first overseas visit following their wedding on the 13th October also visited the Maharana Pratap Memorial; Lake Fateh Sagar and were given a short briefing about the monuments and other places of historical interest in Udaipur. The lake city was the last destination in the couple's sojourn to the state of Rajasthan and the King's fourth trip to India since the coronation of His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in November 2008.
