Shikarbadi Hotel, Udaipur

Location
Built in the 1930’s, Shikarbadi, as the name suggests was the private hunting lodge of the Mewar Royal family. Located on the fringe of Udaipur city it is spread over 250 acres. Shikarbadi lies at the foothills of the Aravali mountain range. In 1976 this erstwhile hideaway was converted into a hotel. Before that, Shikarbadi was the private residence of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, the 76th custodian of the House of Mewar and the current Chairman and Managing Director of the HRH Group of Hotels.
Attached to the hotel are a deer park and a wildlife reserve, one of the few exclusive and naturally abundant wildlife reserves in the State of Rajasthan.

Accommodation
Shikarbadi Hotel offers country house style accommodation in twenty-five air-conditioned, well-appointed rooms and suites. Paintings and prints of a bygone era decorate the walls of the rooms, narrating stories and anecdotes of past hunting expeditions. Constructed around the edge of the Deer Park, each individual room looks out onto the abundance of wildlife that comes to the watering pond in the mornings and evenings.

Fine dining
The hotel has two fine dining Restaurants and a Bar.
Surrounded by the wildlife sanctuary on three sides and overlooking the swimming pool, is the Baithak restaurant, which serves Chinese and Continental cuisine as well as a selection of snacks. Adjacent to the Deer Park is the Cheetal restaurant that serves authentic Indian cuisine and barbecue (tandoor) snacks. The open-air Risala restaurant is invigorated by a campfire and barbecue. This is a unique venue and is ideal for partying of all kinds.
